Interesting thoughts about Macromedia trying to, in a way, out-Windows Windows, by creating dubious wannabe-platforms like Macromedia Central, which might have been so much more interesting would it have restricted itself to provide a more or less portable way to access OS resources, a lightweight client-side database with server synchronization and a bunch of sharable data type definitions. And then Macromedia Flex, featuring the most braindead licensing model since Curl Laszlo. Whom the heck are they thinking they're selling to?
