M:N relationships in Rails: has_and_belongs_to_many (nice!).

In contrast to Helma, the Rails model layer - Active Record - saves you from having to declare value mappings (title, firstName &c.) as well as from having to explicitly map join tables for m:n relations. Per default, table names are inferred by pluralizing class names: A class named Person is guessed to be backed by a table named persons.
