So Kim Burchett is working at StreamBase ...
I wonder how new that "new class of systems software" really is - and how many lines of code it will take in Q or even A+ to replicate their functionality (7? ;-) ... but I fear we'll have to wait until the StreamBase site isn't password-protected any more. Until then, I'll have the top spot for [create StreamSQL]. Woo-hoo!Gary Williams is blogging his first steps in ChucK.Mr McGovern alerted me to the amazing aacPlus (AAC + SBR + PS) and to the even more amazing tuner2.com. Thanks! Some tidbits from Amazon's internal DevCon (blogged here):
MySQL/NDB "will have attribute storage for blogs."
"partition engine that can use any other storage engine underneath (partition based on range, hash, etc.)." — Source.
Partitioning! That definitely won't please Oracle ...
Michael Tiemann — "New project, Stateless Linux. Wall Street has stateless servers and stateless clients. Significantly improved reliability. Total scalability. Any app on any box at any time. No one-of configuration. Change classes of configurations, never individual machines. Made changes to Linux, FHS, LSB. Read-only root filesystem. State resides in memory, dynamic discovery, network/central server, cache. Users don't need root. Pushing for adoption, big architectural transition. readonly-root package, rsync cache, live CD installs." — Source.
