|LANGREITER.COM plain, simple|
Aaron Swartz reluctantly builds another Python web framework: web.py. Looks as nicely minimal as Helma 2 in its current state.
"Yes, Python needs fewer web application frameworks. But it also needs one that doesn't suck."
"I imagined how things should work and then I made that happen."
Which is of course the only way to design great APIs; the probability that great APIs grow is even lower.
Note: web.py recommends; I like that attitude.
As long as we are on the topic of web frameworks, I found both DHH's comparison of Ruby on Rails and Django and his Snakes and Rubies slide set (Pursuit of Beauty) quite interesting. Skimming recommended.
In the meanwhile, the discussion regarding Helma 2 templates continues on dev.helma.org.
And as the single biggest problem in web development nowadays is probably analysis paralysis, back to work.
