Heute in Matrix, 22:30, Ö1 (auch webweit zu empfangen): Charles Herzfeld, geboren 1925 in Wien, ARPA-Direktor von 1965 bis 1967. Vor- und Mitlesestoff bei Ö1, Materialien von und zur Spurensuche im Mariann'schen Zettelkasten sowie auf tao. Von dort auch folgendes Exzerpt:

"In February, 1966, [Bob Taylor] approached the then head of ARPA, Charles Herzfeld, and made a proposal for the creation of an interactive computer network, linking different computer systems together for the sharing of information. After a twenty-minute discussion with Taylor describing this proposal, Herzfeld approved of Taylor's concept and provided $1 million in initial project funds ..."
