After being reminded of Google Analytics (which could be termed the Microsoft Office amongst web analytics tools) when skimming the Bigtable paper (2006-08-31-bigTable) and noting the somewhat troubling fact that clickstream data accounts for a whopping 250TB (a more than respectable fraction of crawl data at 800+50TB and Google Earth imagery at 71TB, see also Mr Linden's post) I finally decided to kick it to the curb. As it's much too cumbersome to navigate the Analytics maze to finally arrive at the few bits of data that actually interest me I hadn't looked at the stats for months anyway, so there's little incentive to contribute to Google's flächendeckenden Wahrnehmungsteppich (hackr).Demnächst wahrscheinlich mit eigener Nataschazeitung: Österreich ist da. Und, ab und an, sogar online, wo's ruckelt, zuckelt und blinkt wie von Fellnermedien gewohnt. Ansonsten visuell durchaus nicht übel; bis auf die "Nachrichten" selbst ist der Nachrichtenüberblick (wie überhaupt der bemerkenswert starke Fokus auf Bildmaterial) ein zwar vielleicht nicht völlig neuer, aber doch einigermassen erfrischender Akzent. Das Printprodukt wirkt auf den ersten Blick wie eine Melange aus Kurier und News (und ungefähr so aufregend, wie eine solche semihypothetische Ahnenschaft erahnen liesse), der Lokalteil spottet (zumindest in der aktuellen Tiroler Wochenendausgabe) jeder Beschreibung. Rest wie (schon [zu] oft) gehabt; Spitzenleistungen wird man sich von der Redaktion realistischerweise nur den Bewerb Themenrecycling betreffend erwarten dürfen: Jede Suppe, die News & Co. nur einmal wöchentlich neu aufwärmen mussten, jetzt täglich. Wohl bekomm's.  Spiegel: "OE24 balanciert chic, aber manchmal ein wenig bemüht zwischen ernsthafter Web-Zeitung und boulevardeskem Entertainment." Special entertainment: oe24 über Spiegel über oe24. [create Hubert Patterer]: "Man hat den Eindruck, dass hier jemand eine halbe Trafik in eine Zeitung pressen wollte." godany: "news, gossip, lifestyle, telefonprospekt, schülerzeitung."
