O'Reilly's tre[e|nd]maps mentioned in 2007-01-15-treeHype seem to suffer from a bad case of label conflation which makes it rather hard and/or nonsensical to compare individual charts; note how Ruby leads over Python on exactly one chart (probably due to the fact that Rails books aren't categorized primarily as Ruby books).

Polyhierarchies make for difficult raw material; on the positive side, you can create charts supporting [m]any conclusion[s] you want to reach.
