Google acquires Jaiku.

A fine microblogging service, but probably more important is the fact that on phones, it's a presence-aware contact list, and that's something darn cool.

In not completely unrelated news, Dave Winer notes: "Feedburner reports that 609K people subscribe to the TechCrunch feed. When I got a prominent link from a TechCrunch piece on September 30, it generated 228 hits [...]."
