imho ist die 1060 lizenz nur eine konsequente weiterverfolgung der wesentlichesten GPL eigenschaft: der "viralness". wo die GPL fordert, dass aufbauende software ebenfalls GPL'ed ist, fordert 1060 "nur", dass aufbauende software OSI-certified open source ist. [sleepycat (und andere) machen im prinzip aehnliches].

das ergibt folgenden interessanten effekt: die nutzung sowohl der original software als auch jeglicher erweiterungen ist sowohl private als auch kommerziell immer erlaubt, proprietaere erweiterung nie. effektiv werden dadurch alle OSI-certified open source lizenzen zu einer art "mini GPL" pervertiert.

interessant finde ich daran, dass dieses modell die "license X is imcompabitle to GPL" probleme geschickt zu ueberwinden scheint.
