APL time-sharing system/global network company, founded by [create Ian Sharp] and associates in 1964 after [create Ferranti-Packard], where most of the early IPSA staff had worked on the FP 6000, had been taken over by ICT. Bought by Reuters in the late 1980s.

Soliton Associates was established in 1993 by taking over Sharp APL customers from Reuters. This company manages the ongoing development of SAM and SAX.
